Beep . . .Beep . . .Beep . . .This Just In . . .

Good Evening, America. We have breaking news . . . Emily Bellock has just passed the 2 ft mark in height! At her last doctor's appointment, on Friday, April 6, she measured in at an astonishing 25 inches!!!! The nurse measured her, looked at her chart, said, "That can't be right. . ." and measured her again. Sure enough, it was right, Emily is 25 inches long (in the 75% for her age)!! She has grown 7 inches from birth in just under 4 months. What an amazing feat! (Haa, feat-get it? We're talking about her height!)

We'll give you all a minute to pick your jaws up off the floor before we continue.

Are you ready for more, yet?

OK, here we go . . .

She also weighs in at 13lbs 4oz (which is now in 25-50% for her age). Her Daddy likes to call her a little fatty, but this is now proof that he is full of bologna and needs to stop teasing her.

The Nurse and the Doctor both told us that she is "perfect." Which of course, we already knew. Who would have thought that this tiny little peanut would grow up sooooo quickly? She amazes us more and more.

Here is a list of things that Emily is now longer (taller) than . . . an ant (2-25 mm), a quarter (.955 inches), Mommy's digital camera that is always flashing in her face (3 inches), a letterbox (6-7 inches on average), a #2 pencil with an eraser (7.5 inches), Mommy's glove (9 inches), Daddy's stack of Harry Potter hardcovers (10.5 inches), a box of aluminum foil (12 inches), Mommy's purse (16 inches), and the filing cabinet in our "office" (24.5 inches).

Here is a list of things that are still longer (taller) than Emily . . . Mommy & Daddy's TV trays (26 inches), a yardstick (36 inches), a hobbit (42 inches), Mommy (64 inches), the "Emily" afghan (70 inches), Daddy (71.75 inches), the sofa (90 inches), a school bus (432 inches), a blue whale (1,320 inches), Auntie Mandy's shoes (too big for the tape measure to get an accurate measurement), the Sears Tower with its antennas (20,700 inches), the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur with their antennas (17,796 inches), and Mt. Everest (348,336 inches).

Here is a list of things that Emily is now heavier than . . . a pad of post-it notes (1 oz), a magazine (9 oz), a box of girl scout cookies (12 oz), a family-sized box of Kleenex (15 oz), a pound of feathers (do we really need to tell you?), a loaf of bread (1.75 lbs), Mommy's purse (9 lbs), the "blog" binders (9.5 lbs), the diaper bag (10 lbs), and a 13 lb bowling ball (again, do we really need to tell you?)

Here is a list of things that are still heavier than Emily . . . Daddy's Harry Potter Books (14 lbs 4 oz), Emily's stroller (18.9 lbs), Emily's stroller with the car seat inside (26.14 lbs), a polar bear cub that was also born on December 14, 2006 at the Brookfield Zoo (40 lbs), Daddy's Saturn Vue (3, 430 lbs), and a blue whale (399,036.695 lbs)

And now for some photos. . . (Look Aunt Sandy, Emily's not wearing a single polka dot anywhere. . .)

In an effort to stunt Emily's growth and keep her tiny, Daddy is trying to encourage her to eat candy bars (see photo above) and he is considering a switch in her formula (see the photo below).

Test driving a couple of different vehicles, trying to see what she wants to beg her Daddy for when she turns 16. Above: The Saturn Outlook, Below: A 4-Wheeler!

Emily is not quite as large as the TV that her Daddy dreams about, nor is she as large as his dream grill.

Ooooooooooooooooooo! A backyard play scape! Ooooooooooooooooooo!

Having missed out on the hot tub experience while we were in Galena because she was "too young", Emily decided that since she's older now, she was going to check this one out.

This is our "Emily" afghan. Pretty cool, huh?

a scale drawing, it's pretty self-explanatory. . .

Confidential from Great-Aunt Kate to Aunt Sandy; Let's not tell Emily's Daddy that her cute button nose, beautiful eyes and adorable round tummy remind us of polka-dots even if she isn't officially "wearing" them! HaHa, Daddy and Hugs to Emily!
