Emily's First Easter

Today was a day that Emily has been waiting for, for about forty days or so . . . EASTER! She was really excited because her friend, the Easter Bunny, who she met at the Woodfield Mall a few weeks back, told her he would be bringing her some neat stuff. She had been working very hard on being a very good girl, just in case the Easter Bunny has a list like Santa.

Her day started bright and early. She was having a lot of fun playing in her crib after she woke up, when Daddy came in to check on her and change her diaper. She gave Daddy a hard time with the diaper by dancing around and being a moving target. She thinks that this is a fun game and was having a BLAST! Next came a bottle and a nap. After her nap, she headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Bellock's for breakfast and it was there that she found her Easter Basket from her good friend, The Easter Bunny. She was very excited! She immediately sat down and read her cards from Grandma & Grandpa, and her Aunt Susie. Then she played with the fun bunny that was in her basket and read the Easter Egg Book that was also in her basket.

After she finished with her basket, she realized just how hungry she was, so she settled down with us at the breakfast table for some eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and cinnamon rolls. She ate and ate and ate; just like her other friend, the Very Hungry Caterpillar. When breakfast was over, it was time to go home to get ready for Easter dinner with the Huck's, so she said her goodbye's and headed home.

After another bottle and a couple of quick naps, it was bath time, and boy did she have fun! She got all clean AND completely soaked Daddy with all of her splashing! Following her bath, she spent some time doing her hair, and then put on her Easter dress. She had to wait around for a little while so Mommy and Daddy could get ready. In retaliation for making her wait, she spit up a little on Mommy's shoulder, right before it was time to go. Once everyone was finally ready and all cleaned up, it was time to go.

This was Emily's first trip to The Butterfield Country Club and she was very happy to see her friend the Easter Bunny also made it, although she was a little confused because he looked a little different than she had remembered him, but it had been awhile since she had seen him. She was really excited to see Great Grandpa Huck again and got to meet a lot of her cousins. She thought that everyone looked very nice and everyone really liked her outfit, especially her shoes, they are very fancy--there are rhinestones on the buckles, a little "bling" for a little girl. After having a lovely dinner, it was time to go home. Emily had a lot of fun today, but by the end of the day, she was very tired, and very full from all of the eating. She can't wait until next Easter!
